Forum and network for Northern Governance and Development

Building capacity for sustainable social and economic development in the Circumpolar North is the main objective for both the forum and the network coordinated by Finnmark University College (FiUC).

New course and study programmes on both undergraduate and graduate level, reflecting the need for knowledge and competence in the region, are among the most positive results of the regional research and development work initiated through and by the network.

This is achieved mainly through close and continuous cooperation with development agents and partners in both the public and private sector in the region in joint development projects, but also cooperation in research and education.

The combination of these three elements is not only the ‘trade mark' of the Forum and Network for Northern Governance and Development, but also a criterion for success in building capacity for sustainable development in the North.

Idrett som næringsutvikler

Finnmarksløpet samarbeider med Tana kommune. Nå skal løpet bli et turistprodukt.

Offroadfinnmark og Finnmarksløpet satser på å bli store turistnæringer. Under Gargia-konferansen kunne arrangørene avsløre at arrangementene selges som turistattraksjoner til hele verden.

Fikk gjennomslag for prestisjeprosjekt

Eva J. B. Jørgensen har fått tilslag for et stort forskningsprosjekt.

Eva J. B. Jørgensen og Mai Camilla Munkejord fikk full uttelling fra Forskningsrådet og høgskolestyret for deres grenseoverskridende forskningsprosjekt. Nå blir de fulltidsforskere.

Studenter videreutvikler offroadfinnmark

Studenter ved tidligere practice modul-samlinger.

Studenter og lærere ved fem universiteter i Barentsregionen og offroadfinnmark har samarbeidet i et åpent innovasjons prosjekt. Målet er å utvikle forretningsideer og businessmodeller for å videreutvikle offroadfinnmark.

Sport, turisme og stedsutvikling er tema for årets Gargia-konferanse. Blant annet blir det fokus på hva Finnmarksløpet har å si for lokal- og regionutvikling.

Samarbeid som gir utdanning

Deltakerne på seminaret Living in The North i Kirkenes i høst.

Seminaret «Living in The North» er et godt eksempel på fruktbart samarbeid mellom Høgskolen i Finnmark og de russiske utdanningsinstitusjonene i Murmansk. Resultatet er felles utdanning.
